Hi, everyone, from Corvallis, Oregon! Deb dictated tonight’s prayer requests over the phone, so here they are. I wish I’d been there tonight. I miss you all very much. Laura
Please pray this week for the following concerns and celebrations brought before God during worship, October 7th:
CONCERNS: Silent prayer for Jerry; prayers of healing for Ken and for Lou; prayers of well-being for Roberta and for Carol (both of whom we haven’t seen in a while); and prayers of peace and healing for Burma/Myanmar.
Prayers for the animals we love, living and dead: for Sue and Janine’s dog Kemo and various cats; for Terry and Kathy’s dogs Alison, Lily and Grace; for David’s cat Serenity; for Jane and family’s Basha (sp?) and Zoe; for Lou’s dog Sparky; and for Laura and Deb’s Myrtle (the turtle), for the cats Aerie, Fergus, Cleo, Elgie, and Jonesy (all no longer with us) and for Claudius, Mabel, Sylvester, Brutus, and Weasley. And for Wijit. Also for Inky and Cindy.
CELEBRATIONS: Praises that there’s an MCC in Yakima
; and thanksgiving for Jane’s trip to Oklahoma for a Planned Parenthood conference: Jane spoke, and she got to hear Robin Meyers speak on why the Christian right is wrong.
Know this: GOD is God, and God made us; we didn’t make God. We’re his people, his well-tended sheep…. God is sheer beauty, all-generous in love, loyal always and ever. –from Psalm 100, Peterson’s The Message translation
