Hi, Jim.
Welcome (soon) to Yakima! Let me see if I can find out where else you might stay. I’ll write more in an email. Meanwhile, we look forward to meeting you!

HiRev. Jane. I was searching Yakima valley websites , am considerng moving there, and was thrilled to see your church listed! Iam a straight female myself, but am very spiritual and a naturally gifted energetic healer and I think having your church there has to be a great spiritual addition to the valley. The best to you.

Thank you for your post, Andrea. We have a warm church community here and you would be welcome (not everyone at the church is gay). There are some alternative healing communities in Yakima as well. Email me if you need some more information. Jane

I stumbled on your webpage while looking at churches locally. My question is not one that you haven’t heard before, I’m sure. My question is, on what basis in Scripture is there for lesbian and bi-sexual behaviour something to be embraced rather subdued? Also, how do you justify having a female Pastor. Above all, how do you justify any of these things as over-riding any other doctrine in Scripture?

Hi, John.
There’s actually a rich amount of scriptural justification for embracing all kinds of committed relationships. And that justification wouldn’t in my opinion “over-ride” any other doctrine in scripture, but is part of the main thrust of scripture itself.
If you’re sincerely curious about the scriptural basis for celebrating all committed relationships, check out some of the links on our blog. There’s lots of great sources on the ‘net. Our blog is a place of community, not so much of debate.

Hi, My partner and I have been talking about finding a church home that would not make us and our children feel out of sorts, do you have anything for children. The reason I ask is our kids are 6 and 13 and will want to interact with other kids like them. They both struggle with their peers with having two moms and need other kids they can relate to. Thanks

Hi Jennie, thanks for your message. We do have some children at the church on an irregular basis . We do not have a set Sunday School schedule at this time, although we have people in the church who are willing to do this. Give me a call 457-6454 and I can better assess your needs and perhaps make suggestions of worship places in Yakima that would meet your needs.
